Help support Wildflower, adopt a project!

We are working to nurture a network of beautiful, equitable Montessori micro-schools throughout the US and Puerto Rico, and we need your help! We are a small team with a lot of ideas and oh-so-many projects.

If you believe in Montessori education, if you code, if you love design, if you are a WordPress pro, if you are interested in humane tech/UX, volunteer your talent and help bring a project to life!

Slack App: Advice Process

Help us create a custom Slack Application to support one of our core ways of working, what we call Advice Process. We are a non-hierarchial, Teal organization. This means Wildflower partners and teachers are empowered to make their own decisions in the roles they lead. The only expectation is that decisions are made informed by stakeholders who may be impacted by the decision.

School Pipeline Notifications

As our network grows we are supporting more and more teachers working to bring their school vision to life. We need help improving the startup pipeline so partners, and the greater community of teachers, can better follow the successes of our emerging teachers. Let us know if you would be interested in helping build an application that uses scheduled notifications, email, and our pipeline API to help keep our network in sync on the progress of our emerging teachers.

Social App: Wildflower Materials

Improve our Montessori Materials utility, an app that helps teachers choose the most appropriate materials given their classroom and budget specifications (e.g., number of students, age range, square footage and budget). This utility currently sources static data from a single vendor. Help us improve the app to source materials from many vendors. Or, take the app even further by adding functionality to add new materials on-demand.

501c3 Workflow Automation

Teachers are required to fill out and sign dozens of documents as they move toward opening their school. Most of these document workflows are currently handled manually. We would like to begin automating these workflows. Starting with the 501c3 non-profit application, we need help automating a workflow that will: auto-fill state specific tax exempt PDFs with as much information as possible, send these documents to stakeholders for signatures, generate the proper letters that need to be mailed to the IRS, and store completed materials in a common location. We could use help scripting any/all of these steps!

Social App: Montessori Connect

The Montessori Method resonates with Wildflower because both emerge from the belief that children are naturally good, peaceful and curious and that in the context of a supportive environment, all children engage instinctively in the work of self-construction. This is why Wildflower is focused on nurturing Montessori micro-schools led by Montessori trained teachers. Wildflower also values connection, and so we want to help foster a community where Montessori teachers can easily find and support one another. Early on we created a rough concept for a Montessori social platform called Montessori Connect. We are looking for designers and developers interested in taking this concept to the next level.
